Add Historical Spend to AutoPricer/PharmaPricer

We need to add Historical Spend to AutoPricer and Simulated Spend to the Playbook grid. See attachments….evidence the client needs to see both, especially in the Covid age….and especially if spend is seasonal like a Children’s hospital or a vacation area.

It’s so important to update the Playbook and Playbook Summary grids to include both Simulated and Historical Spend….. that from my point of view we need to implement in the next push. Especially in Covid, seeing what a client actually purchased in a category vs. the simulation of their recent patterns is vital and strategic. For example at Catholic Medical Center:

• Thermometry expenses are simulating at 3x historical…expected due to Covid patient treatment.

• Ortho categories historical 2x simulated….reflecting reduced elective surgery volume

If a client is going to negotiate they need to see these numbers, side by side in the grid, to make decisions on negotiating strategy. It will expose seasonal impacts (like Children’s hospitals), and moves in market share.

I totally understand that there is an importance in understanding the difference between historical spend and what's simulated in AutoPricer, including why that difference exists (data excluded from AutoPricer, price change, utilization change or seasonal impact). AutoPricer does not outline the reasons for change, while the goal of Dynamic Spend is exactly that. AutoPricer is our comparison engine, not our reporting tool.
