Subject: ImpactTracker.....what's changed between the past two months? ImpactTracker ideas
Importance: High

* In the Excel ImpactTracker PriceTrending was able to identify the items that moved up or down in price between the past two months. What has changed in the latest data file is maybe the most important thing we can present to the client.....because it's the trigger for action / investigation / confirming successful negotiations are kicking in.

Seems that's difficult to do in PowerBI.

It struck me last night that we might accomplish this....and give focus to what's changed...by adding the option in the ImpactTracker for month over month, using the previous month's LPP to show what has changed in the latest data.

It would have limited scope but seems it would accomplish exactly what we need...focused just on the items where the price has changed. And, it's using the same structure for analysis as the 6 over 6 and Year over Year. The SKUs going up and down in price would be evident. I suspect there's risk in the Trending Annual calculations...as they would be based on just one month....which is an issue

* I suggest we include the true LPP invoices in the Product Detail in the ImpactTracker, as often I am seeing the ImpactTracker is using the true LPP for the calculations.....but the supporting transactions are not in the Product Detail.

* Right now it's very cool to show the client how Covid has impacted them....because the Y over Y encompasses the Covid experience and the 6 over 6 is post first wave response. Yet, in another month or so we lose that ability...because the time periods don't line up any longer. This makes it so clear that we need to add the custom date slider so the client can choose the timeframe they want to see included in the ImpactTracker. You can bet that later this year clients will want to see how they did since the start of Covid March 2020, but they won't be able to.

All the best,

It's likely the most strategic thing we can work on right now. Folks have no time for anything right now....and many clients actually don't believe they can take on strategic initiatives. Presenting the greatest risks based on the latest data can help us focus the research and discussion to get their interest and support to take action to nip issues in the bud.
